The Ceramic Cafe was born from a simple hope: to create a place where people in Greene, NY could come together, be creative, and feel connected to their community.

For owner Stephanie Davy, the idea was about more than opening a business. She saw a need for opportunities that would bring people together, encourage creativity, and add a little more joy and enrichment to everyday life in the town. So, she took a leap of faith — both feet in — and The Ceramic Cafe began to take shape.

The journey started by incubating out of 33 Genesee Street at Play It Forward Greene. From the very beginning, it became clear that there was a real desire within the community for the arts. People wanted a place where they could sit down and paint, get their hands messy, take a class and learn something new, or simply spend an afternoon laughing and creating alongside a friend.

What started as an idea quickly became something much more meaningful. The Ceramic Cafe became a place where people could slow down, try something new, share a conversation, and make memories together.

At its heart, The Ceramic Cafe is about people. It is about creating a welcoming space where creativity opens the door to connection and where everyone — whether they consider themselves an artist or not — can come in, make something, and feel a part of the community.

Stephanie’s leap of faith was really a leap of heart: a belief that Greene deserved a place to create, connect, and simply enjoy being together. And from that belief, The Ceramic Cafe was born.
